1,000 radios aid CL crime busters
Camp Olivas, Pampanga – Anti-crime operatives in Central Luzon have much to celebrate after the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) received yesterday 1,000 high-tech handheld radios with leather cases and extra batteries from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Communications and Electronics Service (PNP-CES).
Chief Superintendent Raul D. Petrasanta, PRO3 director, received the new equipment and thanked the support of the PNP leadership in the regional fight against crime and other illegal activities.
Petrasanta thanked, in particular, the PNP-CES headed by Chief Supt. Rodel D. Calungsod for “empowering law enforcers in Region 3” and boosting security and intelligence monitoring operations in Central Luzon.
He said the handheld radios would really be of help in providing PRO3 operatives with immediate communication especially with the recent activation of specialized crime-fighting teams such as the Motorcycle Riding Teams, the Anti-Hijacking Task Groups; Mobile Patrollers; and checkpoint personnel.
“With this improvement in communications, I am in no doubt that more positive accomplishments will be achieved in the future and that the public can expect the PNP-PRO3 to respond better to crises and that the delivery of our police services will be more effective and efficient,” Petrasanta said.
