Iloilo partners with Unilab to bolster mental health programs


ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo provincial government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Unilab Foundation Inc. (UFI) to bolster its mental health programs.

The MOU signed by Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. and UFI Operations Director Claire Papa formalizes the commitment to enhancing the welfare of Ilonggo families and addressing pressing issues on  mental health and youth empowerment.

Among the aims of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is creating half-way home for residents undergoing mental health crises as well as institutionalization of a province-wide suicide prevention program.

The ULF will provide the Iloilo provincial government technical assistance in designing and delivering projects focused on mental health services.

The ULF is conducting training programs to strengthen standards for quality mental health programming.

The Iloilo provincial government has designated a Secretariat to coordinate with ULF and assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of supported projects.

The Iloilo provincial government is responsible for boosting campaign awareness by disseminating information.
