Lyceum of the Philippines survived an opening set meltdown as it turned back Emilio Aguinaldo College, 16-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-12, on Wednesday, April 24, to remain unscathed in five outings in NCAA Season 99 women’s volleyball at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

Johna Dolorito did almost everything as she came through with 10 points that all came off attacks while spearheading their floor defense with team-highs 11 receptions and 10 digs.

Joan Doguna, Janeth Tulang and Hiromi Osada likewise came through by scattering 14, 11 and 10 hits, respectively, for the Lady Pirates, who have moved a step or two closer from claiming a Final Four seat.

LPU, however, blinked early and allowed a determined EAC to steal the first set and snare the chance of putting blemish to the former’s immaculate slate.

It wasn’t meant to be though as Dolorito and the Lady Pirates woke up from a deep slumber, dictated the pace from thre and snared the triumph.

The Lady Generals remained winless in five tries.

To advance, LPU would need to win at least two of its four elimination round assignments to advance.
