Negros Occidental earns P19.2 M from Panaad


BACOLOD CITY – The provincial government of Negros Occidental reported total sales of P19,250,439.50 from the 28th Panaad sa Negros Festival here from April 15 to 21.

Local government unit (LGU) pavilions earned P11,808,939.80, followed by San Miguel/Garden Show with P4,461,985.20, Food Alley with P1,703,403.50, Provincial Veterinary Office with P870,230, Trade Fair with P264,550, and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) with P141,331.

However, sales of the LGU pavilions this year decreased by 20 percent or P4,413,203.36 from P23,663,642.86 in 2023.

But Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, in a media interview, said that despite the 20 percent drop in the LGU pavilions’ sales, he still considered the festival successful because as it was well-attended.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas lauded the Task Group Pana-ad for a successful security coverage during the entire celebration.

“You have raised the bar of excellence and gave honor to the uniform we wear by sharing your passion, hard work, and commitment as public servants,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-Western Visayas director, citing zero major incidents.

Wanky underscored the collaboration, cooperation, and coordination among other law enforcement agencies and the full support of the LGUs in making the event successful.
