Las Piñas police are hunting down an employee of Bacoor Traffic Management Office and his bodyguard involved in a shooting incident that wounded four persons inside a KTV bar on April 20.

Las Piñas police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla identified the suspects as Gerry del Rosario alias "Boss Gerry," an employee of  Bacoor Traffic Management Office and a resident of Imus, Cavite, and his bodyguard  Dexter John Barco.

Tafalla said the wounded victims were identified as Orlan Tejada, 35; Erwin Fernandez, 28; Erdel Mercado, 46; and Nicole Rose Lubrico, 26.

He said the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on April 20 inside Jonix KTV at Alabang-Zapote Road, Pamplona Uno, Las Piñas City.

The city police chief said three of the victims were brought to Las Piñas District Hospital while their woman companion was rushed to the Perpetual Help Medical Hospital for treatment.

Tafalla said that based on the investigation, the suspects and the three male victims, along with their companion Cpl. Jaypee Punzalan, assigned to the Station Intelligence Section of Las Pinas Police Station, engaged in a heated altercation.

Punzalan left his group after being escorted outside by the bar’s officer-in-charge.

Several gunshots were later heard inside the establishment.

The city police chief said administrative charges were filed against Punzalan for failure to apprehend the suspects and violating the existing rule prohibiting police officers from going to bars, nightclubs, and similar establishments.

Tafalla said Punzalan was placed under restrictive custody and his service firearm was turned over to the Station Supply Section.

He said they are also preparing the filing of frustrated murder complaint against Boss Gerry and Dexter.
