The Angels banked on the offensive fangs of five players, scoring in double figures to outlast the Crossovers in 2 hours and 25 minutes.

It also halted Chery Tiggo’s impressive seven-game winning run while extending Petro Gazz’s winning streak to six games.

Brooke Van Sickle headlined the assault with 21-point effort highlighted by 18 kills, while Aiza Pontillas flashed her vintage form and erupted for 18 points built on 15 attacks and three blocks.

Sickle’s performance propelled the Angels to dominate the next two sets, bringing them closer to their dream of reaching the championship 

MJ Phillips rose to the occasion in her second match since her return by unloading 16 hits, while Jonah Sabete and Remy Palma chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively.

“We were rattled at the beginning, but eventually, everything fell into place because we communicated effectively,” said Pontillas in Filipino, who emphasized the significance of communication in their remarkable fightback from an initial set defeat.

The win put Petro Gazz on top of the standings as its four-set victory earned them 3 points, with Choco Mucho trailing them with 2 points following a dramatic five-set triumph over Creamline.

Creamline is at third with 1 point while Chery Tiggo is at the bottom with zero points.

The Angels exploded at the attack line by pumping in 65 kills compared to the Crossovers’ 40, while also providing a rock-solid defense at the net with 13 blocks -- four from setter Djanel Cheng.

Eya Laure and Ara Galang scored 15 and 10 points in a losing effort for the Crossovers.
