TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Marijuana worth P858.9 million was destroyed in a nine-day eradication operation in Tinglayan, Kalinga from April 29 to May 7.

Police discovered 27 plantations in Mount Chumanchil in Barangays Buscalan and Loccong during a surveillance under “Oplan: Highlander.”
More than three million fully grown marijuana plants and 575 kilos of dried marijuana stems with fruiting tops worth P858.9 million were burned.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. led an operation on May 7 where P30 million worth of marijuana was found and destroyed in Barangay Buscalan.

A manhunt is underway to arrest their cultivators.
