Jason Francisco regrets punching John Prats in the face during the rehearsals for "Banana Split" at the Music Museum on Thursday.
In tears, the young actor-comedian apologized to his friend via "Bandila" and "Umagang Kay Ganda."
"Alam ko namang mabait ka… Alam ko na sobrang mahal na mahal mo si Melissa pero sana lang mapatawad mo 'ko kasi siyempre, lalaki man ako siyempre alam ko 'yung feeling ba pagka alam ko na parang too much na 'yung ano mo… kay Melissa. Sana maintindihan mo bilang… isang lalaki ba na nagmamahal.
"Humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa'yo na sana patawarin mo 'ko sa nagawa ko kasi, alam ko na may pinagsamahan tayo. Sana mapatawad niya 'ko tsaka ng pamilya niya," said Jason, adding that he hopes to personally say sorry to John.
Jason is said to have gotten miffed by the teasing that his former girlfriend Melissa "Melai" Cantiveros receives from her "Banana Split" co-stars. John, however, maintained that those playful remarks among them are nothing but "normal."
"Kasi sa amin sa 'Banana Split' talagang asaran talaga kami. Inaasar ko si Jason na malaki ulo, ako inaasar nilang maliit…" he pointed out to "Bandila."
Still, John is clueless about the true motive behind the assault, though he "felt na parang I was the one available that time."
John filed a blotter before the San Juan Police on Thursday night. Recalling the incident, the actor-dancer said, "So I was like watching sa rehearsals ng 'Banana Split,' then from behind… sinapak niya (Jason) 'ko ng dalawang bases sa mukha," gesturing punches to the right side of his chin and left cheek.
"Nung humarap na 'ko, 'Ano bang problema mo?'" John added.
The show's director, Jemster Reyes, corroborated the 29-year-old actor's statements in a separate interview.
"Akala ko tatapikin lang si John, tapos 'yung tapik niya isang malakas na sampal sa kanan, tapos sinabayan ng suntok sa kaliwa tapos suntok ulit, bali tatlo. Tapos inawat na namin kasi nagulat kami pareho eh," he said.
Jason and Melai left the venue following the incident, added the "Bandila" report.
John is also bent on filing charges against Jason.
