At least eight flights were cancelled on Wednesday, Aug. 24, due to bad weather condition caused by tropical storm "Florita."
In a statement, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said those cancelled were PAL Express 2P 2932/2933 Manila-Basco-Manila; Cebgo DG flights 6031/6032 Manila-San Jose-Manila; and Cebu Pacific flights 5J 504/505 and 5J 506/507 Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), on the other hand, issued two separate Notices to Airmen (NOTAM).
CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said the first NOTAM was issued to temporarily close the Tuguegarao Airport from 10:36 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to a leak in the roofing of the terminal caused while the second NOTAM was issued to check the Flight Service Station (FSS), an air traffic facility which provides services and information to aircraft pilots.
Apolonio also said that they are still waiting for area managers from Region 1 and Region 2 for their final report regarding the effect of "Florita."
