BIR files tax evasion raps vs 19 firms, gas station owner

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed another set of tax evasion charges against 19 corporations and the owner of a gas station for alleged refusal to pay taxes totaling to more than P1 billion.

The president and treasurer of these companies were also included in separate criminal complaints filed with the Department of Justice.

Quezon City Revenue Regional Director Alvin Galanza identified the corporations as Glastar, Jim, and Jimsons Laboratories, Millennium Seven Services, M-Lav Industrial Gas, Pro-Tech Industrial and Engineering Supply, R.A.R. Builders, RCAC Capitol Ventures, Wide Sales Manufacturing, and UP Consumers' Cooperative.

East NCR Revenue Regional Director Romulo Aguila Jr. named corporate respondents as Blue Media of Ortigas, Pasig City; Miles Ahead Management Solutions of Nangka, Marikina City; AAA Antique Reproductions and Decorations of Ugong, Pasig; Bavaria Automotive Professionals of San Juan City; Becken Trading of Ortigas, Pasig; Gencar of Taytay, Rizal; Mantinno Philippines of Mangahan, Pasig; Taipan General Services of Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City; Valera Ads in Motion of Mayamot, Antipolo City; Federal Builders of Santolan, Pasig, and LKY Development of West Greenhills, San Juan City.

The lone individual accused was Leonard Rojas Olalo, owner of Maybunga Seaoil Service Station of Sixto Antonio Ave., Pasig.

BIR prosecutors filed the complaints after the respondents repeatedly ignored to settle the tax liabilities incurred in 2007 to 2015.

The tax debts ranged from P4.7 million reportedly incurred by Miles Ahead and up to P224.7 million slapped against Olalo.
