BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar – The Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (DEO) hosted the two-day Quarterly Regional Conference on National Road Traffic Survey Program (NRTSP).
Manolo A. Rojas, district engineer, told Manila Bulletin the meeting was attended by different NRTSP coordinators from different DEOs in Eastern Visayas.
The conference focused on updates on the Road Traffic Information Application (RTIA) which is used to gather data for making decisions on creating bypasses, off-carriageway projects like concrete pavement shoulders, and preventing choke points in the highways.
“The data from RTIA is essential in coming up with an economical pavement design. You prioritize scarce resources of government for infra projects that are responsive to the road network of your district,” Rojas said.
The Eastern Samar DEO was chosen to host the event because of excellent track record in the maintenance of roads and bridges and for being consistently number one nationwide in high absorptive capacity.
