The fashion runway at the Metrowear 100 wasn’t the only platform that showed off the country’s top designers’ works. The Manila Hotel tent last Thursday was one visual feast for the fashionphiles. Among the 500 invited guests who attended, a handful of ladies stood out in their smashing outfits. And it seems that royal purples and pristine whites are a fave among these fashionable women.

When asked why her choice was a cornflower purplish blue tube dress by TC Alvarez, creative director Pam Gonzales shared that “the color is bold and subtle. It also complements my skin tone, and adds a richness to the rather feminine silhouette of the dress.”

Beauty Bar’s Chie Gatchalian enjoyed the show with her eight-year-old daughter. She wore a purple, halter, cotton jersey dress from Two Chic: “I wanted to wear something bright to veer away from my usual black ensembles. It was my interpretation of that night’s creative cocktail dress code,” she explained.

Going neutral, interior designer and now designer for baby wear Mai Kaufman came in a simple white, ruched dress by Jun Escario. “I chose to wear white because it’s a seasonless color. It’s chic, classy, clean, and has a much neater look.”  And so it does, as she paired this immaculate color with gold accents for a sexy goddess vibe.
