CAMP MALVAR, Batangas – Policemen are now tracking down a retired policeman who allegedly shot and wounded a 47-year-old vendor in Barangay San Jose in Alitagtag town, Batangas last Tuesday.

Senior Supt. Jesus Gatchalian, Batangas police director, said the victim Joseph Adaya, is now confined at the Taal Polymedic Hospital after sustaining bullet wounds in his left arm.

Police said Adaya was in Barangay San Jose at 9 a.m. when retired police sergeant Jaime Esguerra arrived and shot him several times using an unknown caliber firearm. Witnesses said Esguerra fled after the incident and is now the object of a manhunt operation.

Police said a personal grudge between the two was the alleged motive behind the shooting incident.
