A portion of a major park in a city in South Korea has been landscaped and designated to be the site of the "Valenzuela City Park," which highlighted the sisterhood relationship between the two cities.

Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian, who visited Bucheon City in South Korea to personally attend the unveiling of the park, said the opening of the Valenzuela City Park at a portion of Bucheon Central Park symbolizes the continuing cooperation and exchange between the two cities.

Gatchalian, who led the city delegation in the opening of the park and the commemorative tree-planting ceremonies, was accompanied in the trip by Councilors Cora Cortez and Shalani Soledad, Kagawad Martel Soledad, business permit and license office chief lawyer Joel Ruma, city assessor lawyer Ard Henry Binwag and delegations from Valenzuela Business Club, Inc. and the Rotary Club of Valenzuela.

In 2006, the cities of Valenzuela and Bucheon inked a sisterhood agreement to uphold and encourage mutually advantageous and practical exchanges in the field of economy, trade, science, technology, culture, arts, sports, youth and education development.
