DILG offers assistance to Katrina
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Ronald V. Puno has offered his assistance to Katrina Halili regarding her complaint against Dr. Hayden Kho and the alleged distributors of her sex video with Kho. Her compaint is now being investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Sec. Puno said that the DILG has now a Women and Children’s Protection Center and this is now the appropriate agency that can also help Katrina push through her complaint lodged at the NBI. The fact that the Women and Children’s Protection Center is staffed by women, it would be very much easier for Katrina to narrate her experience.“
”As of now,” Sec. Puno added, “there is yet no law covering the complaint of Katrina. What I know is that the complaint can be a ‘slander by deeds,’ and this can be directed to those who allegedly distributed commercially copies of the sex video.”
Sec. Puno revealed that there are now “women and children’s desk” practically in all cities and municipalities in the country.
Regarding the distribution of the Katrina-Hayden sex video which is still very rampant, Sec. Puno said that he had discussed earlier the problem with Edu Manzano, the chairman of the Optical Media Board. He has detailed to the Optical Media Board (OMB) personnel to help in confiscating those sex videos or to stop the distribution.
"I am giving OMB additional personnel," he said.
