Close to half a century of producing exquisite jewelry, Miladay celebrates with a release of a jewel watch collection entitled Rhapsody. Why the musical name?  “We came up with the Rhapsody collection as we are inspired by our late mother, Milagros Dayrit’s love for music,” said Michelle Dayrit-Soliven, president of the award-wining jewelry store.  

Only a handful know that the late Milagros was a full-time piano teacher before she discovered her love for making beautiful jewelry. Her husband, Vicente “Ting” Dayrit, saw the potential of his wife’s passion and supported her in putting up a jewelry store. “As a piano teacher, my mother’s favorite piece was Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini by Sergei Rachmaninoff. That also gave the name for our watch collection,” says Dayrit-Soliven.

A private launch to celebrate their mother’s humble beginnings and love for music was held recently at Miladay’s Jupiter branch, showcasing these limited-edition bejeweled timepieces that are sure to make great conversation pieces. In fact, the Sapphire Melody in Spring was already sold when I got there, and I was on time for the launch—that’s how pretty these watches are.

Available in three models, Diamond Soprano, Diamond Aria, and Sapphire Melody, these watches come in either full diamonds of different cuts or colored stones, and are set in 18-karat white, yellow, and rose gold bezels. I am quite biased for those with bright-colored, genuine-leather straps; and they’re also interchangeable, making them exceptionally wearable and versatile. Now, that’s a wise investment, indeed.
