Just when all seemed well in Snooky Serna’s career, rumors surfaced recently that the actress had caused delay at a movie set being helmed by Joel Lamangan.

An exclusive interview she granted to Manila Bulletin Online had her neither categorically denying nor confirming the report, although she did say she had apologized to the director.

“Pumapalya pa din naman [ako] minsan. Tao pa rin naman ako. When I said sorry [to Lamangan], hindi ito yung showbiz. It was a sincere apology, straight from the heart,” she said.

Reports allege that Snooky had showed up hours late at the shoot of the movie, “Dukot (Desaparecidos).” More, the actress supposedly did not even inform the crew that she was going to be late.

Does the apology confirm the rumors?

“Even if you ask people involved in the film, okay naman ako the entire time we were shooting. It’s just that that last day, I didn’t feel well and had to go to Makati Med to have a check-up.”

Snooky said she felt pain in her neck then which caused her discomfort.

“But to the best of my recollection, we informed them (movie crew) about it.”

She added that the shooting day was not wasted because her speaking lines were delegated to another actress.

Snooky hopes that the brouhaha would not redound to the film nor have people thinking ill of her.

“I especially don’t want people to mock my religiosity kasi there are those who say ‘Ay relihiyosa ka and yet look at your work ethics.’ By God’s grace naman, I see myself as doing the best I can. And despite these things, many blessings still come my way; ones that I sometimes think I don’t deserve.”

Snooky Serna recently won Best Supporting Actress from the 25th Star Awards for Movies for her role in “Paupahan.”

Outside showbiz, the actress is into the accessories and perfumes business. Her tumultuous love life has steadied, too.

"I’ve been through a lot so I’m wiser now. I’ve learned from the past. I’m wary about going into crazy, mad love if you can call it that,” Snooky said, alluding to her failed marriage to actor Ricardo Cepeda.

This positive outlook has given Snooky the strength to graciously accept setbacks and negative feedback.

“I live on a day to day basis [now]. I’m okay. I’ve learned to ‘Let go and let God.’”
