Dottie Ardina waylaid Lauren Ellerman of Ohio, 4&2, to advance to the second round of the WWGA (Women's Western Golf Association) National Amateur Championship at the Shawnee Country Club in Lima, Ohio Wednesday.

The win set up the 15-year-old spearhead of the ICTSI-RP golf team against Oklahoma’s Kelly Fuchik, who also scored a 4&2 romp over Michelle Edlin of Minnesota, in one of the matches in the lower half of the draw.

Chihiro Ikeda and reigning RP Ladies Open champion Louise Manalo also advanced but Marissa Steen of Ohio booted out the other ICTSI bet Sarah Ababa, 1-up, in their own side of the duel.

Ikeda whipped Erin Misheff, 4&2, while Manalo outlasted Ginny Brown of Texas, 2&1.

In the consolation pool, Bambee dela Paz posted a 1-up win over Carly Truitt but Cyna Rodriguez dropped a 3&1 setback to Corinna Rees of California.
