John Lloyd, Sarah to be crowned Box-Office King & Queen 2009
The box-office supremacy of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo will be affirmed once more with their coronation as Box-Office King and Queen at the RCBC Plaza along Ayala Ave., Makati City. They were proclaimed as such on the basis of the box-office earnings of their movie “You Changed My Life” which reportedly raked in more than P200 million.
Sarah, a prized Viva entertainment artist, also won two other coveted awards.
The Box-Office Entertainment Awards is given annually by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, headed by Mrs. Corazon M. Samaniego.

Diether appointed EDSA Power commissioner
Comm. Christopher L. Carrion, EDSA People Power Commission’s co-chairman, has recently appointed ABS-CBN actor Diether Ocampo as EPPC commissioner for a period of three years. Diether will join the 25-member commission that includes former Pres. Corazon C. Aquino and Fidel V. Ramos as life-time members.
In his letter to the actor, Comm. Carrion said that he (Diether) has been appointed in order to promote the “values that the EDSA People Power Revolution stands for, and to bring about the unfinished revolution of that astounding historical event.”
Carrion recalled that EDSA 1986 is a “historical milestone for democracy in our country and must be given the formal recognition of a major historical event through national commemorative activities, regardless of personal political positions, the promotion of values under our Good Friendship Program, and to erect a lasting EDSA Freedom Center for all generations to come.”

The search for the first Hiyas ng Quezon City culminates today, June 20 at 4 p.m. at the Entertainment Center of SM North Edsa.
Mayor Sonny Belmonte, Jr. will crown the winner and the contest’s main sponsor, Coun. Ariel Inton, Jr., will open the coronation ceremonies.
Cash prizes, college scholarship and gift items are stake.
