The Vic Sotto-Pia Guanio relationship is not running on a rutted road.

Vic himself denied there is trouble in paradise as far as relationship with his girlfriend is concerned. “We’re okay. [The rumors about split-up] is not true,” Vic disclosed to the Manila Bulletin in a recent interview on the set of new movie “LOL (Love Online)” at the Harbour Square, Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) area in Manila.

Reports reached several news media that the Vic-Pia relationship hit a bumpy road and was allegedly headed for splitsville. But the heir to Dolphy’s Comedy King-throne quickly rebuffed the rumors relegating the issue to be a case of “kid stuff.” If there are changes in the landscape of their relationship, Vic said only that the romance has become stronger.

He stressed to the Bulletin, “That’s just kid stuff na hindi na bagay sa amin ni Pia. Puwede lang yang mga ganyang balita sa mga younger celebrities.”

The fire blamed for the Vic-Pia smoke is “LOL” co-star international actress Paula Taylor, whom the “Eat Bulaga” host cleared off the hook. In fact, Vic said, “It isn’t true na nagseselos si Pia [kay Paula].”

What Vic confirmed were talks about Paula Taylor to be a very good actress. “She’s very comfortable with comedy. But she’s not a comedienne, she’s an actress. Sanay na sanay na siya sa mga ganitong projects.”

Vic said Paula did not need to practice her Tagalog in the movie because, “hindi naman niya kailangang mag-Tagalog dito.”

Meanwhile, Paula played it safe and very showbiz when the media asked her of the status of her relationship with co-host Marc Nelson. The Thai actress whose billboards are all over Bangkok implored the “We’re just friends” clause.

When confronted about Marc questions, Paula just said, “He’s good. We’re good. Every time I got an offer [here in the Philippines], I always call him and ask for his suggestion. We’re okay.”

When someone from the media asked her how she is related to Elizabeth Taylor, Paula gamely answered, “She’s my long lost cousin...very lost.”

The 26-year-old actress and model said she likes it in Manila. “I’ve been coming here for a long time now for work, I love it here and I know a little bit of Tagalog. I know, mainit, sobrang mainit. Earlier, Leo Martinez taught me tang-na ang init-init. I sent it to my friends and they told me it’s bad words. I didn’t know.”

The international actress has dine a couple of notable roles, the most recent of which was the one in “Shadows” where she co-starred with Cary Elwes (“Saw”) and Willam Hurt (“The Village”). She told of the experience, “I was scared at first when I learned I’ll be working with William Hurt, but he was very friendly, a very nice guy and there’s no reason for me to be intimidated. I played wife to Cary Elwes.”

On working with Vic Sotto, Paula only had nice words for “Bossing.” The first word that came to mind when asked to describe Vic was “charming.” She said, “It’s a nice experience to work with him because I’m aware he’s like a superstar but he’s down-to-earth and he looks after his co-stars.”
