Former drug gang member, entertainer fall in Quezon buy-bust

CANDELARIA, Quezon – A former member of a drug syndicate and a 24-year-old lady entertainer were arrested and P106,080 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Maasin in this town on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Police identified the suspects as Lope Alvarez Hernandez, 48, of Barangay Maasin and an alleged former member of the Hernandez Drug Group, and Jennalyn Erosa, an entertainer, of Barangay Lagalag, Tiaong, this province.

Suspects were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer accompanied by a confidential civilian agent at 9:15 p.m.

Seized from the suspects were 5.2 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P106,080.

They were taken to Candelaria District Hospital for medical and physical examination and detained at the police custodial facility here.

A criminal complaint for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article 2, of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against Hernandez.

On the other hand, charges for violation of Section 11, Article 2, of RA 9165 against Erosa is being prepared for filing before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Lucena City.
