Hyun Bin's 'Confidential Assignment 2' reaches 3 million in total tickets sold on 6th day

The Korean movie “Confidential Assignment 2: International,” headlined by actor Hyun Bin’s new movie, has achieved a new milestone.

The film has sold three million tickets as of 12:50 p.m. KST on Sept. 12 based on real-time box office sales of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).

It achieved the milestone on the sixth day of release since Sept. 7. This is twice as fast as the original “Confidential Assignment” released in 2017, and Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” which reached three million in total admissions on the 12th day of release.

To celebrate the feat, the cast of “Confidential Assignment 2: International” posed for a group photo on Sept. 12.

The movie has topped the box office in South Korea since it opened on Sept. 7. Its ticket sales were boosted by the Chuseok holiday period.

“Confidential Assignment 2: International” stars Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae-jin, Yoona, Daniel Henney and Jin Seon-kyu.

It tells about detectives who unite for their own purposes. Hyun Bin is Im Cheol-ryung, a North Korean detective sent to South Korea again on a mission; Yoo Hae-jin plays the role of South Korean detective Kang Jin-tae, and Henny is FBI agent Jack. They work together to catch a global criminal organization.
