The Black Eyed Peas overtakes Jonas Brothers in US chart
The Black Eyed Peas has overtaken Jonas Brothers at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 album chart this week.
“The E.N.D.” CD by the Peas and “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” CD by the Brothers trade places from last week.
Meanwhile, the latest singles of The Black Eyed Peas occupy the top two positions in the Billboard Hot 100. Their latest single “I Gotta Feeling” usurped the number one spot from “Boom Boom Pow.”
Out to challenge “I Gotta Feeling” at the top are Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” at number 3, Lady Gaga’s “LoveGame” moving to number five and Linkin Park’s “A New Divide” which enters the Top 10 at number nine.
Back at the album chart, Russian breakthrough artist Regina Spektor’s new album, “Rise” remains at number three while prog legends Dream Theater’s new album, “Black Clouds” and “Silver Linings,” the movie soundtrack of the “Transformers 2” are at number six and seven, respectively.
R & B artist Ginuwine’s latest album, “A Man’s Thoughts” crashes into the whole of Billboard 200 at number nine.
Bubbling under the Top 10 both for the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100 are musical oddballs The Mars Volta’s “Octahedron,” and Jay-Z’s “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune).”
As expected, there’s clamor for Michael Jackson’s catalogue following his demise. Jackson’s albums are expected to break records in the Pop Catalog Charts in the coming days.
Already, Universal Music has jumped the gun and released collections from their Jackson 5 discography.
