Maria Elena “Yen” Lopena, the radiant crown holder of Slimmers World International’s 2008 Miss Bikini Phils., takes the stage once more, competing in the Miss International Beauty 2009 in the city of Urumqi in China from July 4 to July 28, 2009.

Miss Lopena, a life-long fitness enthusiast from Cavite, stands as one of the most luminous of the title holders of Miss Bikini Philippines. Aside from winning the title of Miss Bikini Philippines-World, she was also judged as Best in Talent. Now she is stepping up, ready to outshine almost 50 other delegates of the Miss International Beauty title.

Established in 1973, the Miss International Beauty Pageant traces its roots as a local beauty contest. Over the years, it evolved into one of the more prestigious beauty pageants, founded on values beyond the appreciation of beauty, including friendship among countries and the promotion of world peace.

Miss Lopena will compete in several categories in addition to Miss International Beauty. The categories include Best in National Costume, Best in Evening Gown, and the Talent Competition.
