Int’l floral designer in RP floral event
Practical Floristry, a flower arranging demonstration by world-class floral designer Richard Go will showcase the latest floral trends for weddings and special occasions, everyday floral arrangements and even non-traditional funeral pieces.
The much-lauded, Australian-based floral designer whose work has been featured in international floral publications is set to conduct his half-day seminar–demonstration at the SMX Convention Center of the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City on July 14 followed by two hands-on workshops at the Philippine Institute of Floral Techniques (IPHFT) school campus in Malate, Manila.
The two consecutive events sponsored by Oasis Floral Products, Jasam Floral Sundries and IPHFT will feature creative arrangements that demand less time, are easy to execute and generate greater profit for local floral arrangers currently facing a discriminating, tough market during recession.
Go is a Filipino-Chinese based in Sydney. He is one of six floral designers in Australia who holds a coveted diploma in floristry. He is an Oasis Floral Ambassador and a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), the Flower Design Australia (FDA), the New Zealand Professional Florists (NZPF) and the World Flower Council (WFC). Go travels in various parts of Australia as well as in other countries conducting floral arranging workshops and demonstrations. The coming seminar-workshop is Go’s third flower arranging appearance in the country.
Go won the gold in the 2006 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show in Melbourne Australia. He is a full time teacher at the Western Sydney Institute of Technology TAFE and Richmond College. E-mail at www.iphft.com.
