Tagbilaran City – Fire Supt. Sheila Andrade is breaking new ground for Boholanos.
Not only is Andrade Bohol’s first female fire marshal, she is also the first Boholano female graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
Andrade was born in Dagohoy, Bohol. A graduate of the University of Bohol, she also holds a Master’s degree in public administration (MPA) from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the International Academy of Management and Economics (IAME).
In 2006, she was the first female BFP personnel to join the International Fire Fighting Course at the Civil Defense Academy in Singapore.
She was assigned to the Fire National Training Institute (FNTI) in 2002 as a tactical officer, became the institute’s commandant in 2009 and deputy director in 2012.
She was appointed city fire marshal of Laguna, Biñan City, San Pablo City and Cabuyao.
Andrade has attended firefighting seminars, training and workshops here and abroad.
