The Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation will hold a charity bazaar on August 8-9 at the Rockwell Tent from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Club president and Bazaar chairperson Olga Severino Martel said proceeds will fund the club’s projects which benefit 880 families in the Centennial Village and neighboring barangays in Taguig where the club’s community center is located.

The club provides free medical and health services, training programs for leadership, entrepreneurship and livelihood skills with microcredit facilities; seminars on legal rights along with values formation, a feeding center and a preschool with over 120 children.

The club’s projects also include a psychological center at Maritime Hills in Muntinlupa, which helps sexually abused girls through individual counseling, group therapy and art and theater workshops.

The club is at present constructing 40 housing units at the Zonta Club of Makati Gawad Kalinga Village located near the Zonta Center in Taguig.

Its latest project is the “Empowering Women Scholarship Program’’ for women college students enrolled in engineering and technology courses at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in partnership with Unilever, DSWD-NCR and Woman Today.

A special raffle draw will offer prizes such as airline tickets, jewelry pieces, weekend in Boracay, appliances and others. Major credit cards are accepted.
