The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Wednesday, Jan. 18, launched the Police Bike Patrol wherein 80 bicycles, helmets, and arm sleeves were turned over to the police by Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando.
Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said the Bike Patrol is a collaborative project of the BPPO together with the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB).
The Bike Patrol aims to provide more police visibility in places of convergence such as tourist destinations, strengthen their capability to prevent and respond swiftly to crimes on the street, and also promote physical fitness.
Likewise, the ceremonial groundbreaking of the soon-to-rise, 540-square-meter covered court of Bulacan PPO was also conducted.
Col. Arnedo said that with the support and assistance of Governor Fernando, the covered court has now become a reality.
He said members of the BPPO will be able to keep up their levels of fitness and health, which will enable them to perform their duties more effectively and efficiently.
The activity was also attended by Dr. Eliseo Dela Cruz, Department Head of the Provincial History, Art, and Culture Office, and Rev. Monsignor Pablo S. Legaspi Jr, Parish Council.
