Rewarding a Junaderful journey

The Internet indeed has made everything—ranging from mail, messaging, photo sharing, file uploads, and even entertainment—accessible. Now, on the World Wide Web is a new site that is interested in where you’ve been lately, and can even reward you to go further.
Cebu Pacific Air’s Wandering Juan Travel Journal Photo Contest online (www.wanderingjuan.com) synthesizes two Filipino passions: travel and taking pictures (of your journey). The website is a tribute of the country’s top budget airline to shutterbug Filipinos’ love for travel.
The website allows travelers eager to share their travel experiences to upload photos for a chance to win flights to win exciting trips to different destinations such as Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.
Each entry must include a pair of tsinelas—something all Pinoy travelers never leave home without—to represent the adventurous wandering Juan attitude. Participants can enter travel photos in any of three categories and find themselves flying to a new adventure courtesy of Cebu Pacific.
“For the first time, there is now a website that recognizes the unique travel perspective—a combination of pluck, humor, creativity, warmth, and pride—that we bring on our journeys and enhance our travel experiences. Wandering Juan provides Pinoy and Pinoy-at-heart travelers a venue where they can brandish their travel achievements for all the world to see,” says Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution.
The travel journal photo contest will serve as a visual journal of the many travel experiences Pinoys been able to enjoy through Cebu Pacific’s lowest year-round fares and increasing number of destinations.
Those who wish to join the contest can submit photos featuring their tsinelas in landmarks and sites they’ve visited, with people they’ve met, or in a sequence (a la travelogue). The complete mechanics may be viewed online as the promo lasts from July until October of this year.
With Cebu Pacific now flying to more local and international destinations, participants can take their photos from the local surfing capital of Siargao in Surigao del Norte and the Chocolate Hills of Bohol, all the way to quirky Seoul in South Korea and the historical structures of China.
And to really make memories last forever, one can also avail oneself of Cebu Pacific’s Fun Prints service to get the photos printed out in order to relive memorable Cebu Pacific vacations. The Fun Prints site is operated and maintained by Mozcom, the Philippines’ first commercial internet service provider.
“This is a good time to be a traveler and learn more about the world and our places in it, given all the affordable options and unique services that make travel dreams possible and more meaningful,” adds Iyog.
