Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo has downplayed observations of her giving John Lloyd Cruz the cold shoulder in one of their segments in Sunday variety show, “ASAP,” on July 12.

The segment showed Sarah not looking at nor talking directly to John Lloyd

even when the actor tried to catch her attention.

“Hindi naman sa dedma,” said Sarah in “Showbiz News Ngayon” on July 14. “Siguro ay hindi lang maiwasan na nagkakailangan kami kasi matagal na kaming hindi nagkakasama. Yun lang yun.”

John Lloyd was in the US recently to celebrate his birthday. While there, he and actress Ruffa Gutierrez were caught on cam together. One picture showed the two about to enter a hotel, while another showed them strolling down Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.

John Lloyd and Ruffa have owned up to the pictures but insist that they are only friends.

Prior to rumors linking Ruffa and John Lloyd, the actor was said to have begun courting Sarah especially in lieu of their box-office hit movies, “You Changed My Life in a Moment” and “A Very Special Love.”

In the same “Showbiz News Ngayon” interview, Sarah said that John Lloyd never courted her. She added that it was impossible for John Lloyd to have done so especially since he had a girlfriend back then.

In a separate interview, Sarah’s mother was quoted to have said that her 20-year-old superstar daughter will only accept suitors at age 25.
