I don’t have anything to explain to Sarah – Melissa Ricks

Young actress Melissa Ricks of the forthcoming film, “Love Online (LOL),” doesn’t see any reason for her to talk to Sarah Geronimo about Rayver Cruz.
“Rayver is a good friend pero never siyang nag-attempt na manligaw sa akin,” she told Manila Bulletin Online in a recent interview. “And kung meron man sila ni Sarah nang kung anuman…wala na ako dun.”
Melissa was referring to an interview of Sarah in which the Pop Star Princess addressed her fans to stop slamming Rayver who was rumored to have chosen to court Melissa over Sarah.
Are you close with Sarah?
“I’ve been in ASAP for three years at pareho kami ng dressing room. Pero di pa din kami ganun kadalas makapagusap kasi lagi siyang nag-co-concentrate sa pag-aral ng mga songs niya for the show at ako naman, with my spiels. At least five songs yata kasi ang inihahanda niya every Sunday,” said the young actress.
Melissa was quick to add, though, that they are on speaking terms and they do greet each other.
“That’s why I don’t think there's a need to talk to her about Rayver. Okay naman kami ni Sarah at di naman ganun kalaki ang issue. Siguro kung lumaki at pinapagaway na kaming dalawa ay dun ko na siya kakausapin about it,” she said.
The young actress even went on to say that should Sarah and Rayver end up in each other’s arms, then she’s (Melissa) all for it.
“Kung magkagustuhan man sila ay walang mali dun dahil pareho naman silang single at talented pa.”
Rayver is not Melissa’s type, she said. To her, the young actor is like a brother.
“Ang tagal na kasi naming magkasama. ‘Rounin’ days pa lang, magkaibigan na kami. Malabo na magka-develop-an,” she said.
If there’s someone Melissa sees as an ideal boyfriend, it is his onscreen partner Matt Evans.
“Kaya lang di siya nanliligaw sa akin – hanggang pa-cute lang,” she joked.
Turning serious, Melissa said that she believes in old-fashioned courtship. She said guys with honest intentions must introduce themselves to a girl’s parents and visit her at home.
The 19-year-old actress added that she wants her men, tall. She, after all, stands at 5’8” which means anyone shorter will be dwarfed.
Melissa and Matt star in the OctoArts Films–M-Zet TV-APT Entertainment film, “Love Online (LOL).” It is headlined by Vic Sotto and Thai-British actress Paula Taylor.
Other stars in the cast are Gina Pareño, Ricky Davao, Jose Manalo, Manilyn Reynes, Dominic Roco, and Leo Martinez. “Love Online (LOL)” will be shown at theaters on August 19.
