Defending champion San Beda College tries to stay close with the league leaders as it guns for its sixth win against a rejuvenated Emilio Aguinaldo College on Friday in the 85th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Red Lions battle the Generals at 4 p.m. with San Beda aching to extend its winning run to four after absorbing a stunning 77-83 loss to San Sebastian early this month.

Meantime, clashing in the opener at 2 p.m. are the Blazers (3-4) and the Arellano University (2-3) with the Chiefs raring to bounce back from a humbling 49-80 loss to SSC.

A victory by the Lions today will solidify their hold of solo second place behind the league leaders Jose Rizal University and San Sebastian College, which have similar 6-0 slates.
