Japanese actor Jacky Woo is known for his passion for acting as well as producing movies in the Philippines. These are just two of the reasons why he frequents the country. Unknown to most, another passion has endeared him more to the Philippines… his charitable works for Filipino children he has been helping for years!

Jacky has undertaken a Feeding and Nutritional Support Program in Brgy. Concepcion in Papaya, Nueva Ecija two years ago. And he is continuously supporting the 50 kids from the said barangay.

He started this project in the year 2007. In an interview with the Manila Bulletin, Jacky said that he was moved to see thin kids who looked so sickly one time he visited Nueva Ecija with a friend. He then vowed to help these children in his own little way.

According to him, malnourished kids from three to 10 years old were the beneficiaries of his outreach project. And because of his endeavors, most especially his Jacky Woo Feeding and Nutritional Project, he was given an honorary recognition from the local government office. He was also given the “Adopted Son of Nueva Ecija” plaque of appreciation from the local government office of Nueva Ecija.

Jacky revealed that he has plans of sponsoring the construction of a school building in Brgy. Concepcion.

With regards to his showbiz career, his movie “Walang Hanggang Paalam” premiered during the recently concluded Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival under the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) section with good reviews. Directed by Paolo Villaluna and Ellen Ramos, the movie also stars Lovi Poe, Joem Bascon and Jake Roxas.

Jacky has also appeared in the “Bubble Gang” and “Cool Center” shows of GMA-7.

If given a chance, Jacky Woo hopes to one day expand his program to benefit other needy children in the Philippines!
