Sexy star nixes death rumors
Former sexy star Pamela Ortiz appeared on GMA 7’s “Startalk” on August 1 to debunk death rumors about her that was aired on ABS-CBN last July 26.
Ortiz was reported have been “dead for days” by columnist Joebert Sucaldito in his Bandera column and in his segment in “The Buzz.”
Sucaldito said that Ortiz’s body was found in San Fernando, Pampanga, and that her husband is a suspect in the ‘crime.’
The sexy star said she was not watching TV when news about her aired on “The Buzz.” A well-meaning friend told her husband who just laughed the whole thing off.
“Hindi po magagawa ng asawa ko ang pumatay ng tao,” she said.
Ortiz called up Sucaldito to straighten out the issue. Sucaldito was very apologetic and said someone just texted him the “news.”
Ortiz is clueless on who might have spread the malicious news about her. She ruled out the possibility that a fellow sexy star had a hand in doing so.
When asked if she’s wants to go back to showbiz, Ortiz turned wistful.
“Wala pong artista na hindi gustong bumalik sa showbiz,” she said.
Ortiz drew strong public sympathy when her life story was featured in GMA-7’s, “Wish Ko Lang” last year. In the show, Ortiz narrated how she and her family had to sell ice candy and “palamig” to make ends meet.
Ortiz mildly reminded media of their responsibility to verify facts about the news they broadcast.
