Treasured memories in Claire’s new ‘Timeless’ album
Claire Dela Fuente’s newest album, which could be her most personal, “Timeless, Songs Of My Life,” has been released by Viva Records this week.
Her self-penned liner notes speak well of her sentiments in this brand-new and delightful musical package.
Part of it reads: “Behind the glitter, glamour and glory, we have more pains than laughter and a lot of challenges. From the beginning of my career, I have kept my personal life private, though most often, in vain. Having gone through life loving, losing and letting go, I feel I am in a better position now to share with everyone glimpses of those treasured memories which are embodied in this album.”
As Claire often declares, “In spite of the varied interest I am always busy with, I will never turn my back to showbiz. This is a most important part of my life and passion, which has continuously given me so much.”
Furthermore, Claire states that she will never stop singing. “It is a very effective medium to communicate with people. All my joys, heartaches, triumphs or disappointments, it is so easy to convey through interpreting songs. That is why I always perform from my heart and soul, which always gives me the feeling of fulfillment and happiness.”
The carrier single, “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang,” a duet with international pop icon David Soul, reminds Claire of one true love from a foreign land. The billionaire proposed marriage to her when she was already committed!
It is amazing how Claire interprets David Soul’s No.1 hit, “Don’t Give Up On Us,” featuring David Parks. The listener feels the dangerous currents of pride and selfishness through the song. As Claire says: “It is easy to fall in love but hard to stay in love.”
Through “Just a Love Song,” Claire conveys her gratitude to all the people who have been touched by her songs and own style of singing.
Claire remembers her late husband, Moises De Guzman, as her silent anchor and support who gave her strength and inspiration – propelling her to greater heights and even exceeding her limitations, in the song “Ikaw.”
The track “Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin (The Moon Represents My Heart)” not only reveals her Oriental heritage but also expresses a universal feeling that anyone, whether from another place or time, can relate to.
Her haunting rendition of “All Is Fair In Love” obviously relates that in life love is one great equalizer.
To know more about Claire’s secret love “affair,” listen to her version of “Kumusta Ka.” With this song she tells us that she has really made the right decision when it comes to matters of the heart.
The Petula Clark classic from “Goodbye Mr. Chips,” “You And I” again places Claire in the league of the best female song artists. Her version might as well be the definitive interpretation.
Discover more of Claire’s versatility as a chanteuse in “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.”
They are equally valuable gems in the “Timeless” musical treasure.
