URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan – SM Supermalls on Saturday, April 29, launched the Pangasinan Bestival at the SM City Urdaneta Central here showcasing the best food from this province.

The event is part of the celebration of the province’s 433rd founding anniversary. Highlight was the unveiling of a giant pinakbet pizza prepared by students from the Apple International School of Culinary Arts Inc., a TESDA-accredited culinary school headed by chef Dave Pasaoa. Shoppers and visitors witnessed the ceremonial slicing and partake of the food for free. Pinakbet is mixed vegetables sautéed in fish or shrimp sauce. Mall manager Abraham Malicdem said that Urdaneta City is known for its agricultural tourism, particularly its “Bagsakan” market where pinakbet ingredients can be brought. This city is also where farmers and businessmen meet and sell their produce for a low price.
