Although he has a lot to celebrate nowadays - especially with the rave reviews his performance in  “And I Love You So’ continues to garner -  actor Sam Milby is still "sad" over his damaged eardrum.

The slight impairment was caused by a hard slap administered—as part of a scene for the movie—by his co-star Bea Alonzo.

“Bea got carried away and slapped me harder than she should have,” Milby reasoned.

According to the 25-year old actor, he is extra careful nowadays to not further damage his torn eardrum.

“My doctor advised me to be watchful because any aggravation [to the ear] might cause permanent damage,” he explained.

One of these no-no’s is getting too much water into the ear which saddened the actor in lieu of his visit to Hawaii for his sister’s wedding.

"When you say Hawaii, [you think of] beach, surfing. But because of what happened to my eardrum, I am not allowed to go swimming even if I wear earplugs!

“Because even if just a small amount of water gets into my ear, the tear on my eardrum might not heal anymore. And if it doesn’t heal, I’ll have to resort to surgery.”

Milby admits he fears the worst so he still takes antibiotics and has his ears checked regularly.
