Makati Shangri-La celebrates the mid-autumn festival with the most delectable variety of mooncakes. Up to the 3rd of October, these sweet delicacies elegantly encased in an assortment of box sizes will be sold at the hotel lobby booth.

Heralding the rise of the harvest moon, legend has it that great emperors offered sacrifices to the beautiful lunar goddess of immortality for a long, full life. This tradition is honored until today with the giving of mooncakes to friends, colleagues and family. Individually wrapped and encased in elegant boxes, the mooncake symbolizes good wishes of longevity and harmony.

Sumptuously filled with fillings such as red lotus cream, white lotus, red bean, milk cream and yam, with a salted egg yolk center to represent the full moon, five mooncake flavors have been created by the culinary masters at Shang Palace to make for the perfect meaningful gift.

Also ideal for corporate giveaways, mooncake boxes may be personalized with company logos, with the compliments of the hotel, for orders of 50 boxes and above. Gift certificates are also available at the hotel lobby booth throughout the duration of the festival or at the Celebrations store at Greenbelt 5.

For those looking to make their purchase a charitable one, Makati Shangri-La also offers the special edition silver mooncake boxes to benefit the Shangri-La’s corporate charity partner, Care For Children. The Beijing-based foundation introduces foster care and other strategic initiatives to relieve hardship, distress and sickness and to enrich the lives of orphans and other needy children.
