Caloocan, Valenzuela, Quezon City LGUs conduct clearing ops in areas affected by 'Karding'
The local government units of Caloocan, Valenzuela, and Quezon Cities conducted on Monday, Sept. 26, clearing operations in different areas affected by Super Typhoon Karding.
The Caloocan City Environmental and Management Department (CEMD) started to haul out garbage, fallen trees, and other obstructions brought by strong winds and heavy rains caused by the typhoon.
According to the Caloocan City government, its office received reports from residents about fallen trees and debris.
The CEMD conducted the clearing operations in different areas including barangays 16, 177, 176, 185 and 175.
It continues to go around the city's barangays to clean up the damages.
Meanwhile, the Valenzuela City government announced in its Facebook post that their evacuation sites were closed at 11:00 a.m. after 219 evacuated families were allowed to return to their homes.
It also stated that they deployed disinfection teams in schools and evacuation sites to ensure the cleanliness of rooms.
Employees of the Clean and Green Office also conducted a clean-up operation in the evacuation sites and streets of the city in the aftermath of the typhoon.
The office takes the lead in monitoring and street cleaning operations in Valenzuela thoroughfares and barangay roads.
The Quezon City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) likewise conducted clearing operations in affected areas in the city.
It issued an official clearance that permitted the evacuees to return home at 10:00 a.m.
