The annual celebration of the Linggo ng Bulacan: Singkaban Fiesta is slated on September 8 to 15, 2009. Worthwhile  activities have been prepared to make Bulacan an exciting  destination, the place to be in September.

The Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by its dynamic Governor, Jonjon R. Mendoza, is staging Kasal: The Wedding Industries of Bulacan  in a grand wedding exposition and bridal fair on September 8, 9 and 10 at the Hiyas Convention Center, City of Malolos.  This innovative project is co-organized by the Bulacan Tourism Council and the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. and supported by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Tourism.

Bulacan SMEs have been doing a great job in supplying products and services for weddings not only in Bulacan but in Metro Manila and nearby regions. “It is time our burdaderos, beaders and modistas, alajeros and  craftsmen be given distinction and high impact promotion. The Kasal project is our way of proving that Kahapon, Ngayon at Bukas, Husay ng Bulakenyo’y Walang Kupas,” said with pride by the young Governor, referring to this year’s Singkaban theme.

The creations of renowned Bulakenyo fashion designers and junior designers of Disenyo Pandi will be showcased, from the elegant gowns and barongs, to the dainty trademark calado embroideries, handed down from generations of Bulakenyo artisans.  Likewise, the jewelries of famous Meycauayan and custom-made fashion accessories of Arnel Papa are expected to attract the high-end market. Business people in the country’s wedding supply chain and merchandisers of department stores will meet directly the entrepreneurs and craftsmen in the down-stream industries, including caterers, florists, cakeshops, souvenir makers, event managers, photo and video shops and many more.

With Bulacan’s century old churches and houses as romantic venues and backdrop, and its hotels, resorts, pavilions and gardens, Kasal can further promote Bulacan as an alternative and practical venue for The Kasal Expo culminates in a Gala Night and Fashion Show featuring the bridal creations of twelve (12) fashion designers on September 10, 8:00 p.m. at the new Provincial Capitol Gym.
