Man dead, trike driver hurt in Negros collision

BACOLOD CITY -- A man died while another was hurt in a collision of a motorcycle and a tricycle at Purok Taho, Barangay Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

The fatality was identified as Joselito Selvano, 26, of Barangay Camugao, Kabankalan City, whose remains were claimed by her mother on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5.

Wounded was tricycle driver Jhick Tabjusay, 37, of Barangay Sum-ag here.

Bago Police chief Lt. Col. Joem Malong said the tricycle collided with the motorcycle as Tabjusay failed to notice the victim whose motorcycle was covered by a bus.

Malong said that Tabjusay’s 52-year-old passenger was unharmed.

Selvano was declared dead on arrival at a hospital while Tabjusay suffered minor injuries.

Malong said the tricycle driver was released from police custody on Wednesday, following an initial settlement with the victim’s family.
