More and more people are trying their best to embrace a greener lifestyle. It starts from us, but it also helps if the companies provide us more sustainable choices—even with the smallest things. Take for example cotton buds. They may be small, but we use them almost every day. This consumption, among many others, continues to affect our world.
Babyflo realized how important this is that they relaunched their cotton buds last month—Gentle Buds Eco-friendly cotton buds. “The journey toward our goal starts with a single step. Through this product, Babyflo aims to be every Filipino’s buddy towards an eco-friendlier lifestyle,” explains Neogin Evangelista, Philusa Corporation president and general manager. “Philusa being a homegrown Filipino brand, has always been at the forefront of taking small steps and sometimes even big leaps towards a greener Philippines.”
It’s the first earth-mined cotton buds that’s made with 100 percent pure cotton tips, unbleached paper stems which come from responsibly managed forests. This means every tree that’s used is replaced. It also comes in biodegradable packaging. “One thing that prevents us from living a more sustainable lifestyle is the lack of eco-friendly options. Now that this product is out and available, we hope that it could encourage more people to choose a greener lifestyle and inspire them to be more mindful of their everyday choices,” adds Jacquiline Pe, brand manager of Babyflo Cotton buds.
Cotton buds are used for many purposes. From cleaning wounds to makeup application, they are used on a daily basis. At the launch, host Janeena Chan introduced makeup artist Chuchie Ledesma who did a demo on how to apply makeup with cotton buds—for hygienic purposes or for when you forget to bring your brushes. The tips are made with 100 percent pure cotton that makes them multi-purpose. They are also priced affordably at P40 for a pack of 200 tips, and P75 for 400 tips.
