A Grab car driver was caught in possession of a gun during his arrest for a mauling incident in Pateros on Oct. 31.
The Pateros police identified the suspect as Cesar Joveda, 40, a resident of Barangay Pembo, Makati.

Joveda was arrested based on the complaints of Cristine Jean Wales, 25; Arjay Mejillano, 23; and Justine Jae Santos, 25, all residents of Pateros.
The police officers were conducting patrol when the complainants reported to them a mauling incident that happened at about 7:30 a.m. in Barangay Mantanggol, Pateros.
According to the police, Joveda sped off aboard a car, prompting the cops to chase him.
The police recovered from the suspect one .38-caliber revolver without a serial number and five pieces of live ammunition.
Joveda was arrested for alleged physical injuries and violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), according to the police.
Joveda was brought to the Pateros Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) for questioning.
