By Pierra Calasanz-Labrador @tinypoem on Instagram With her head-turning pixie cut and bright personality, up-and-coming 17-year-old model Alexandra Camus is following in the footsteps of her lovely mom Bambi Torres-Camus, who was once a model herself. For Bambi, modeling took a backseat to motherhood, and now that her three kids are older, she keeps busy as a freelance writer, is a sales & marketing manager of a dive resort, and dives in her free time. “We borrow a lot of each other’s clothes,” shares Bambi, who still rocks her model proportions. “I have a lot of classics from over 10 years ago—I can still pull out my Gerry Katigbak pieces and they still work.” Both mother and daughter gravitate towards classic styles but with an edge, though Alexandra notes that her mom’s look is much more casual and laidback. Bambi acknowledges, “I can be extreme—really glamming up for an event, but otherwise, really koboy—that term alone gives away that I’m from an older era!” Alexandra elaborates, “Her silhouette is different from mine. I’ll wear her clothes but in a different way—I’ll pair her top with shorts instead of pants, or I’ll tie it up and wear it cropped; I’ll make it younger.” Bambi laughs, admitting, “So looks different when we post .” And when it comes to shoes, Bambi is often in sandals or slip-ons as she spends half her time at the beach, while Alexandra opts for loafers or heels. Pointing to the white wedges she was wearing at the shoot, she gushes, “I love heels and I love white—these are just perfect for summer!” 1 Girls’ Day Out Though Bambi’s lifestyle is much more sedate these days, she still enjoys attending events with her daughter. “There are times I just want to stay home, but when Alexandra says, Mom, let’s go!
