The Dawn at Cowboy Grill
The most gorgeous enduring rock band in the Philippines with rock hits “Enveloped Ideas,” “Salamat,” “Iisang Bangka,” “Alam Ko, Alam N’yo,” “Tulad ng Dati,” among others, will rock Cowboy Grill Las Piñas and Malate this month.
After a hiatus and several changes, The Dawn composed of Jett Pangan and JB “Junboy” Leonor, Francis Reyes and Buddy Zabala remained true to their music. Call them “The Rolling Stones of the Philippines” or “The U2 of Southeast Asia” for such endurance.
After producing more than 10 hit albums under its belt, The Dawn rightly deserves the title of being one of the most influential and longest-running Filipino rock bands to cross centuries.
Catch them live with the Freak Unleashed & Red37 Bands on Sept. 16 at Cowboy Grill Las Piñas and Sept. 30 at Malate branch.
Spirit of ‘67 rocks Teatrino
Teatrino in Greenhills comes alive with the spirit of Retro as The Spirit of ‘67 takes the stage all Wednesdays of September beginning Sept. 2, all the way down to Sept. 30.
The versatile and amazing band that started out as a group of former high school batch mates who made music for their Ateneo high school class’s Silver Jubilee celebration is now a mixed group of singers and musicians whose passion is getting people high on retro music.
With KooKoo Gonzales, Zoe Zuniga and Bubut Gomez on vocals, Bobby Gomez and Ronald Vicencio on keyboards, Al-Kaz Borromeo on lead guitar, Obet Amalia on bass, Ato Cabailo on percussion and Teng Austria on drums, the Aliw Hall of Fame Awardee band is sure to entertain audiences of different generations with songs from the Swinging ’60s and ’70s (think ABBA, Village People, Spiral Staircase, The Critters), disco, pop rock, new wave and some really rockin’ ’50s.
Party time starts at 8:30 p.m. at Teatrino, Greenhills on Sept. 16, 23 and 30. Tickets are at P350 and are available at the gate.
