Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon will attend the 9th CityNet Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia slated on Sept 20 to 23.
During the flag-raising ceremony at the Muntinlupa City hall on Sept. 19, Biazon announced that he will be flying to Kuala Lumpur on Monday for the congress.

Established in 1987, CityNet is “the largest association of urban stakeholders committed to sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region” composed of more than 173 local government units, non-government organizations, private companies and research centers, according to its website.
Muntinlupa is one of the 51 member cities of CityNet and currently is the auditor of the organization.
“We are proud to say that Muntinlupa is occupying a position of importance and leadership in CityNet,” said Biazon
He said part of his attendance in the CityNet Congress is to submit the audit report done by the city’s internal audit team. Biazon added that Muntinlupa will be designated again as the auditor of CityNet.
This year, the 9th CityNet Congress has the theme “City for All: Activating Access for Urban Growth.”
“The 9th CityNet Congress is a unique opportunity to build Asia-Pacific regional partnerships, identify opportunities for collaboration and share best governing practices in a broad range of urban development goals. City mayors, administrators, civic leaders, and international experts will come together to consider strategies to propel local governments toward the goal of becoming sustainable, innovative, and resilient cities,” according to CityNet.
