Suspect in Laurel bombing incident surrenders upon arrival at NAIA

By Lyka Manalo  LAUREL, Batangas – Batangas Police reported that one of the suspects in a bombing incident in Laurel, Batangas that killed a barangay chairman and his wife voluntarily surrendered to local police upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, Pasay City, Monday morning. (Photo of Marc Amo courtesy of Batangas PNP / MANILA BULLETIN) (Photo of Marc Amo courtesy of Batangas PNP / MANILA BULLETIN) P/Captain Eduardo Timbol II, chief of police in Laurel town said Marc Amo, 31, had an arrest warrant issued against him for two counts of murder and frustrated murder which was issued by Judge Arcadio Manigbas of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 6, Tanauan City in 2016. Timbol said Amo was one of the suspects in a bombing incident that killed former barangay captain Nestorio Rodriguez and his wife last 2014. The police chief said Amo was considered one of the primary suspects, but they have yet to establish if he was the one who threw the grenade into the victim’s vehicle that also wounding another two companions. Timbol said Amo went to Dubai and hid there for almost four years. His lawyer had coordinated with the police before he arrived at the airport. Amo who was tagged as No. 2 Most Wanted Person in Laurel is now under the custody of local police.
