Man with a sword nabbed for robbery in Quezon City

Operatives of the Batasan Police in Quezon City arrested a man for robbery and threatening his victim with a sword in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City on Monday, May 15. The suspect was identified as Rvee Audrey Dela Cruz, 31-years-old, and a resident of Pasay City. According to the police, Dela Cruz ordered a Seiko watch worth P15,000 from an online shop where he and the shop's manager agreed that the transaction and payment for the item would be cash on delivery. This prompted the 23-year-old victim, who works as a delivery rider for the shop, to deliver the watch to Dela Cruz' address. Upon his arrival at the suspect's home, the latter instructed the victim to proceed to a small alley where he threatened the delivery rider with a 27-inches long sword, forcibly took the watch from the victim, and went back to his house. The victim immediately left the scene and reported the incident to his employer. They also asked for assistance from the police leading to the arrest of Dela Cruz. Based on the police records, Dela Cruz was previously arrested in 2021 for illegal drugs. The suspect will be charged for Robbery before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
