The constellation of Kapuso stars will gather together in one very remarkable day as “SOP” and “Mel & Joey” hold a special fund-raising activity this Sunday for the benefit of thousands of Filipinos affected by typhoon Ondoy.

Dubbed as “SOP Concert-for-a-Cause,” the event will be spearheaded by the hosts of the leading Sunday afternoon program – Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Jaya and Janno Gibbs. The event, which aims to raise more donations to further give assistance to the typhoon victims, is in line with GMA Network and Kapuso Foundation’s Operation Bayanihan: Typhoon Ondoy.

Kapuso stars such as Richard Gomez, Richard Gutierrez, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, Sunshine Dizon, Dennis Trillo together with Geoff Eigenmann, Carla Abellana, Mark Herras, Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal will join this special telecast.

Master Showman German Moreno and all the talents of GMA Artist Center will have special production numbers together with the mainstays of “SOP” like JayR, Kyla, Jolina, Rufa Mae Quinto, Raymond Gutierrez, La Diva, Julie Ann San Jose, Eva Castillo, Chynna Ortaleza, LJ Reyes, Ryza Cenon, Frecheska Farr and Geoff Taylor. Other Kapuso stars will help the event by manning in the on-going Ondoy Kapuso Helpline.

Meanwhile, “Mel & Joey,” hosted by the formidable duo of Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon, will be airing a special episode live this Sunday.

Titled “Sa Lupit ni Ondoy, Bangon Pinoy,” the special live episode aims to share the heroic acts of celebrities and non-celebrities who risked their lives in rescuing others during the onslaught of typhoon Ondoy.

More so, the special telecast of “Mel & Joey” will also unveil the efforts of Kapuso celebrities who immediately conducted relief operations to lend a hand to thousands of typhoon victims. Raymart Santiago, Richard Gutierrez, and Chris Tiu are some Kapuso stars who will be featured in this special episode. Also, “Mel & Joey” will keep the telephone lines of Kapuso Ondoy Helpline open to accept more donations.
