Caraga cops seized P413,000 worth of shabu in drug ops

RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City - The intensified campaign against illegal drugs of Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect, and the confiscation of P413,000 worth of suspected shabu, the region’s top police official reported Saturday. Esquivel, Jr. said personnel of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Intelligence Branch and Butuan City Mobile Force Company (BCMFC) of Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) and 13th Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ( 13th PDEA) conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok 6-B, Barangay JP Rizal, Butuan City around 7:10 p.m. on Friday that resulted in the arrest of the drug suspect. Identity of the drug suspect was temporarily withheld pending the arrest of his other companions and his connection in the drug operation. Seized from his possession were seven sachets of shabu weighing 35 grams with Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P413,000.00, marked money amounting to P25,000.00 and other personal belongings. PRO 13 record showed that the arrested suspect was arrested by PDEA 13 personnel sometime in April 2016, and was released last September 2019 after availing of a plea bargaining agreement. “I commend the operating troops for a job well done,” Esquivel said. “Let us continue to serve and protect the people of Caraga,” added the region’s police chief, in his commendatory message to the operating units.
